Pump Mechanic ( Rotating Equipment Technician )

Purpose: To execute installation, testing, commissioning, and performing the maintenance of various types of the Plant rotating equipment maintenance in addition to carry out all other mechanical maintenance activities of the Plant. Main Duties and Responsibilities: 3.1. Execute various types of maintenance of the plant equipment according to its respective maintenance manual effectively and in timely manner, including: 3.1.1. Corrective Maintenance 3.1.2. Preventive and scheduled maintenance. 3.1.3. Predictive maintenance (based on condition monitoring). 3.1.4. Equipment overhaul and recording various clearances, and call for replacement if needed. 3.1.5. New Equipment installation on as required basis. 3.2. Perform vibration measurements of all rotating equipment and report the vibration trend to Maintenance Supervisor. 3.3. To carry out alignment of the driving and driven equipment according to its respective maintenance manual and record details of the man hours and materials spent in performing the completed task. To be experienced with conventional (Rim & Face method), Reverse Alignment technique & capable to perform the alignment with Laser Alignment tool. 3.4. Ability to carry out structural welding works, painting works, Rigging works, etc will be desirable. 3.5. Assist General Mechanic to carry out static equipment overhauls & maintenance according to its respective maintenance manual. 3.6. Assist Maintenance Supervisor to request spare parts and consumable materials required for various maintenance activities & participate with Store personnel in inspecting purchased material before acceptance. 3.7. Assist in the root cause analysis and reporting of chronic mechanical problems and repeated failures. 3.8. Maintain Equipment history cards. 3.9. Well versed with the Permit To Work (PTW) system and ensure strict compliance with the safety policies & procedures. 3.10. Assist Maintenance Supervisor in developing the department O & M Budget and capital equipment budget. 3.11. Well versed in using various precision measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Bore Gauge, depth gauge, screw gauge, Laser Levelling device, etc. 3.12. Able to read & comprehend general arrangement and sectional arrangement drawings and Equipment vendor manuals. 3.13. Ensure & practice good housekeeping standards at all times. 3.14. Perform other related duties as required by Maintenance Supervisor from time to time. Academic Qualification: Fitter trade Certificate from a reputed Industrial Training Institute or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Skills Requirements: Hands on experience with the maintenance practices of rotating equipment such as Pumps, Compressors, Fans & Blowers etc used in desalination / power generation / chemical plants.
